INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the Gold wing Road Riders Association Chapter FL1-K2, St. Petersburg, Florida. This page section of our web site is intended to acquaint you with the Association and the Chapter by providing some information about their activities, benefits, and organization. We hope it will be of help to you as you join the vast number of new friends you will meet in our family of motorcycling. for information on any subject not covered in this brochure, please contact one of the Chapter officers.
PARENT ASSOCIATION
The parent Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) was founded in 1977 by a husband and wife team (in Phoenix, Arizona), who was interested in uniting people who have a common interest in motorcycles and companionship. Since it's birth, the Association has grown to include Chapters in every state of the U.S. as well as abroad. You have become a member of a vast web of friends you have yet to meet GWRRA is led by a Director and staff that oversees the direction of the Association and insures that its constitution is followed. Regional and District Directors oversee the operation of their respective territories. Our Southeast Region encompasses Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and South Carolina. Smaller local areas, such as counties, cities, or neighborhoods are supervised by Chapter Directors who guide the local Chapters. They are appointed with the approval of the District Directors. The Chapter Director has an assistant and staff who work together to conduct Chapter business much the same way as in any club or organization. A Chapter is a politically free social unit of the Association, formed for pleasure, safety, and camaraderie
CHAPTER FL1-K2
Chapter FL1-K2 was organized in 1996 as a new group bringing a third Chapter to Pinellas County. The Chapter embraces St. Petersburg, Florida, and includes members from neighboring cities. Your Chapter Staff is dedicated to ensuring that you enjoy your experience with the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Under GWRRA guidelines, the Chapter does not vote on any issues that are discussed. On the other hand, the Chapter does take surveys and ideas from the membership. If you have any comments, criticisms, or suggestions, please feel free to voice them, as this is your Chapter, and your input is what will help it work
